May Class Schedule
Here are the details: $40 for two hour classes;
$30 for 90 minutes; $20 for the one hour workshops. Necessary supplies and yarn purchased separately.
All classes must be prepaid; class size limited to 10 with a minimum of two registrants (class is subject to cancellation if less than two are registered.)

Saturday, May 4th:
Learn to Knit, 10am-Noon
For the beginner! Students will learn to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, and weave in ends while making a spa wash cloth. You’ll leave with all the skills you need to make all the beautiful things!
One Hour Workshop—Stash Buster Dropped Stitch Poncho, 1pm-2pm
For the advanced beginner-intermediate knitter who has experience with knitting, purling, reading patterns—and who’s looking for a way to use all those strays balls of novelty yarn, i.e. faux fur, eyelash, ribbon—you bring it and we’ll figure out how to use it! You will learn how to utilize your existing stash and purposefully drop stitches—gasp!—to get a great garment.
Wednesday, May 15th:
Brioche 101, 11am-1pm
Everyone’s doing it— you should, too! Brioche has been hot for a couple of years, and consequently there are some pretty amazing patterns out there to play with—thank you, Nancy Marchant, Andrea Mowry, Stephen West, Lavanya Patricella et al. We will use Lavanya’s Beginner Cowl pattern, available on Ravelry, to practice brioche basics. Search your stash for two 100 yd. balls of bulky weight yarn (7 wpi) in contrasting colors—the higher the contrast, the better—and a US 11 16” circular needle. No worries if you don’t have the yarn or needles—we have plenty of both in the shop.
Learn to Knit, 6pm-8pm
Saturday, May 18th:
One Hour Workshop—Entrelac, 11am-Noon
For the intermediate-advanced knitter who has experience with knitting, purling, and reading patterns. You will learn the entrelac technique, including how to properly pick up stitches to create a scarf in this unique fabric. Bring a worsted weight, preferably variegated yarn from your stash, the appropriately-sized needles, and a small-medium sized crochet hook. Free scarf pattern included in class registration fee.
One Hour Workshop—Knitting 911, 1pm-2pm
Mistakes are part of knitting; learning to fix them is an essential part of every knitter’s skill set. In this class you will learn how to read your read your knitting to recognize knits versus purls; how to recognize and fix accidental yarnovers and slipped stitches; how to fix twisted stitches and pick up dropped stitches in various stitch patterns; how to “tink” and “frog,” and what that means, and many more tricks. Bring 4x4 garter and stockinette swatches worked in worsted weight, non-splitty, variegated yarn.
Wednesday, May 29th:
Learn to Knit Socks, 6pm-8pm
For the intermediate-advanced knitter who has yet to knit socks but has experience with knitting in the round on double-pointed needles, ribbing, picking up stitches, k2tog, p2tog, slip stitches, and reading knitting patterns. This class does require homework before the class—inquire at the shop!
