Sandnes Garn has been producing affordable yarn of exceptional quality since 1888, all while honoring a commitment to slow fashion and sustainability. The brand represents classic and responsible knitting at its best, as only the Norwegians know how.
We now have three SG lines available for you: Line, Tynn Line, and Sunday PetiteKnits.
Line (“linen” in Norwegian) consists of 53% cotton, 33% viscose and 14% linen. This unique blend creates a durable fabric with beautiful drape that's also incredibly soft, all while retaining the linen look. Line works to a versatile DK/worsted gauge, making it an ideal sweater option for warm weather projects or for those who can't wear wool.
Tynn Line (“Thin Linen”) is Line’s little cousin, a light fingering weight of the same cotton/viscose/linen blend. Soft and delicious, Tynn Line also creates a durable fabric with a lovely linen look. It's a wonderful option for light weight sweaters and shawls, and like Line, works well for non-wool wearers.
Sunday PetiteKnits is a collaboration between Sandnes Garn and Danish knit designer PetiteKnit, the Danish knitwear line known for subtle and grounded everyday elegance. Sunday is a fingering weight and SG's first merino yarn without superwash treatment, which makes it more environmentally friendly. The classic colors featured in the Sunday PetiteKnits palette have been hand-picked by the design firm's founder, Mette Wendelboe Okkels--find the exclusive designs in the PetiteKnits Ravelry Store.
And this is just the beginning—look for additional bases soon, including Double Sunday PetiteKnits, the DK version of Sunday, and Tykk Line, Line’s bulky weight cousin.
