Flyway Twist by Veera Välimäki and Solstice Beret by Saysha Greene, will build your brioche skills and confidence, setting you up for a special Unwind event in September during the KC Yarn Crawl featuring designer Saysha Greene.

Flyway Twist by Veera Välimäki
This beautiful shawl is a brioche beginner project. It uses two skeins of fingering weight yarn to create a garter and brioche asymetrical triangle. The shawl begins with a relaxing garter section, a simple brioche section and ends with a garter border with short row shaping. This squishy piece will take you into fall with a cozy hug. Carrie will take you through all techniques, including how to fix your mistakes in garter and brioche.

Solstice Beret by Saysha Greene
The Solstice Beret is a great next steps in brioche project. It’s quick, addictive, and so squishy in or Worsted weight yarn. You will learn to take basic brioche up a notch into directional brioche. This style of brioche allows for bold graphic designs that look beautiful in two colors. The beret pattern is a classic slouchy beret shape with a beautiful star pattern on it. You’ll be getting compliments every time you wear it!
Yarn Recommendations: (This two color project requires one skein of each color.) NorthBay Fiber Elemental Worsted, Woolstock Worsted, KFO Heavy Merino, mYak Medium, Sandness Garn Atlas, LBA Corrie Worsted, LBA Wensly Worsted
Prerequisites: basic brioche knit, basic brioche purl, knit two together, purl two together, knitting in the round
This 2 session class meets on Mondays--August 30th and September 14th - 5:30-7:30p
