Your introduction to Chinese Brush Painting: Bamboo, Landscape and the Meditative Art of the Brush will begin with Valda Hu, a Missouri Certified Art Teacher with 14 years of teaching experience at the Nelson-Atkinson Museum of Art.
You will Learn foundational brush techniques using bamboo brushes, ink, and rice paper, and explore how Chinese brush painting fosters mindfulness, concentration, and a deeper connection among mind, hand, and spirit. no prior painting experience is required. You will leave with completed artworks and an appreciation for one of the world’s oldest and most respected artistic traditions.

All basic materials will be provided:
- sumi brushes (bamboo brushes)
- water containers
- helpful handouts
Dates: August 12, 13, and 14 from 10am to noon
Location: Unwind Fiber Arts Classroom
Cost: $150 for six hours of instruction
This class is limited to 8 students with a minimum of 5 students.
